Trump administration rolls back Clean Water Act to 1970’s level

From Save the Bay CURRENTS newsletter: The Trump administration recently signed a regulation to end federal protection for millions of streams and roughly half the nation’s wetlands from federal protection. The move, known as the Navigable Waters Protection Rule, represents the largest rollback of the Clean Water Act since that rule was passed in 1972.

“President Trump has decided to choose pollution over public health. The new Trump ‘dirty water rule’ strikes at the heart of clean water protections that have been in place for almost fifty years and will lead to more pollution in our nation’s waters.”
