Sycamore Landing

Sycamore Landing…A place where fun meets adventure

The Blackstone River Watershed Council has its own Environmental Center, fondly known as Sycamore Landing.  It began slowly and, as we grew, we knew we needed more space to accomodate our programs and projects. It was built using environmentally friendly materials in order to reduce energy. We are located at 100 New River Road, Lincoln RI [adjacent to the Manville bike path entrance]. The building sits on approximately 12 acres of land, and we have direct access to the Blackstone River. From here, we launch canoe and kayaking adventures as well as river cleanups.

In addition, our south wing in our Environmental Center is a large classroom-style education / conference room where we conduct water quality testing, host workshops, speakers and educational programs. Outside the building, we make good use of the 12 acres.  We have plenty of room to do  hands-on clinics such as fly casting, canoe and kayak safety, chainsaw safety, and much more. We teach students about invasive plants and work with volunteers to remove them. Our volunteers keep the pathways in and around the river in good condition so people can enjoy the site. See our dedication ceremony photos on our BRWC Moments page.

Our Environmental Center is easy to find. Just look for this sign on New River Road adjacent to the bike trail.
