Sycamore Landing…A place where fun meets adventure
The Blackstone River Watershed Council/Friends of the Blackstone has grown over the years. Our mandate is the protection of the Blackstone River. We do this through advocacy, education and community involvement. Our new building is a result of our work in the Blackstone Valley Heritage Corridor. As we give to those around us, those around us give back by supporting our efforts.
Our Environmental Center, also fondly known as Sycamore Landing, is situated on approximately 12 acres of land with direct access to the Blackstone River. From here, we launch canoe and kayaking adventures as well as river cleanups. During the year, we host full-moon paddles, wildlife river safaris and many other programs designed to get people on the river.
This year we completed the addition of the south wing, a large classroom-style education / conference room allowing us to easily host workshops, speakers and educational programs. A dedication ceremony is planned for some time in May 2019. Look for details on our Events page in the weeks ahead.
